I don't even know where to begin. I'm sorry my summary is so short, but I don't want to give anything away and want you to just experience it without knowing too much, the same way I did. Because this book was just spectacular. I can't think of many other books that never failed to suprise me like Six of crows did. That's probably why it was so compelling to me and kept me up way too long. The story was fast-paced and thrilling from the first page to the last. I loved how their adventure full of epicness, but betrayal and sacrifices as well, was the main focus of the story, and the bit of romance that was in it was done in a really subtle and touching way. I am often rather bored and annoyed by the whole romance stuff in books, but the couples from this book grew on me so much, I found not one, but three new OTPs.
It was refreshing to see all those diverse characters, both in sexuality and race. Learning more about them, their thoughts and histories through reading the different point of view chapters was amazing. I instantly fell in love with all of them and seeing all their flaws and mistakes they make throughout the story made them so likeable! You wouldn't want to miss experiencing the huge character development and the powerful feelings and emotions they all go through.
The writing was fantastic and Leigh Bardugo did such a great job at creating a beautiful world with so many different nations and traditiones and even languages and I'm seriously grateful I picked this book up, so I can dive and get lost in it.
Rating: 5/5 ✹
Six of crows is definitely one of my most favorite reads from this year and I can't wait for the second book in the series, which is called Crooked kingdom and will be realeased in September 2016. To survive this wait I plan on reading the Grisha trilogy, which is set in the same world and was obviously also written by Leigh Bardugo. I'm looking forward to dive into these books, since they'll surely be just as amazing as Six of crows is.
